Part time workers are entitled to holiday pay on a pro-rata basis and enjoy the same statutory rights as full time workers
Workers cannot be compelled under their contract to work more than an average of 48 hours in a seven day period.
Workers over school age and under 18 are limited to 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week.
Workers are entitled to an uninterrupted rest break of at least 20 minutes away from the workstation if the worker’s daily working time is more than six hours, unless determined differently by a collective or workforce agreement.
The statutory paid holiday entitlement in a year is four weeks.
Employers are responsible for paying Statutory Sick Pay to their employees for qualifying periods of sickness (which must be of four days or more) for up to 28 weeks in any single or linked period of sickness
An employee is entitled to paid time off during normal working hours to receive ante-natal care. The right does not depend on any minimum length of service.
All pregnant employees are entitled to 26 weeks’ maternity leave irrespective of service or hours of work.
